Issue 10 NEW

We are pleased to welcome a new service to The Memorial Hall as The Branch, a day service for adults with severe learning disabilities, has moved into one of the Annex's. The Branch provides a space for opporunity and achieving dreams and aspirations. The service is aimed to provide life-skills and independence for the adults who use it. With the dedicated team assisting individuals to access local facilities, college and community groups. Not only providing a space for learning but socialising to promote a positive well-being.

The services which are on offer can make a  life changing difference. So we warmly welcome The Branch to the Memorial Hall.

Business Plan

The management committee has been very busy this month compiling a business plan with the aim to obtain funding to further improve the facilities at the Memorial Hall.

Our Aims:

  • To install a disable toilet and refurbish the existing toilets
  • Refurbish the Kitchen area.

These essential changes are being made to provide a bright and welcoming facility for everyone in the community to use. However it doesn't come cheap, and applications to secure funding are critical. We have been applying to a variety of sources make sure this is possible.

An updated timetable of forthcoming events including a variety of new additions, including a Dog Shows and Rosie Shaw's Charity Dance Show, can be found on the 'Special Events' page.

We do however have some sad news to report. Pauline Martin one of our well-loved committee members has sadly passed away after a short illness. It goes without saying she will be greatly missed.

Finally, please remember to check the website to see if you've been the luck winner of the 200 Club draw!
